Great family oriented builders. They were easy to work with and continue to provide support, even after closing on our home.

We were able to get in on the ground level. With a custom plan specific to our needs. We were able to add a bigger patio, change the size of the game room and most importantly add a handicapped BATHROOM. At no extra cost for all the plan changes, just the materials. They even suggested other special needs to us that we didn’t think of. We added a pool, and outdoor pizza oven all being built at the same time. We know we caused delays to the Abshires, but they never once complained. When they say CUSTOM its custom. I fell in love with the beauty of the open concept kitchen, custom cabinets with lightening, and quartz counters throughout. We have built before from the ground up only to discover our selections were all upgrades. The Abshire’s standards are exceptionally high. With beautiful plank tile and plush carpets and under pads. When Ms Joan says ” I want you to LOVE your home she means that from her heart.” The Abshire’s live in the neighborhood. They have a vested interest in keeping our neighborhood a well sought out place to live. We purchased our home October 2021. We have witnessed houses up for resale that are bought very quickly. The Abshire warranty is like no other we have experienced. Our movers damaged a wall and Ms Joan was there with her crew to fix it. If I had any questions on pluming the plumber was at my house the day of. The Abshire’s have been building beautiful homes for many years and have developed personal relationships with other small businesses in the community. You wont get any box store/ contractor grade products in your home. I will be forever grateful for my husband finding the Abshires. Ms Joan takes the stress out of home building with her vast knowledge and a local designer. My husband enjoyed working with James and Jamie. Mr Linn is there nightly in the home checking up on the progress of the home to make sure it meets his standards. Our utility bills are so reasonable. We have a well built home. We are forever Grateful and Blessed to know the Abshire’s.

A year ago buying a new house was not in our thoughts at all. We left one Sunday to let my daughter’s dogs out and buy popcorn at Walmart… SERIOUSLY! We love going to open houses and happened upon an open house sign in River Birch Place. We went in and met Mrs. Joan. Walking in you could feel and see the excellent quality of her homes. She talked with us about what we would want in a house then directed us to one in the framing stage. It was everything we had talked about. Our life had just changed. We bought the house! The whole building process was so easy. Constantly in contact with you and answered any questions you had along the way. I loved what she had picked out and our home turned out beautiful. The Abshire’s homes are built with great quality and many amenities included you will not find with another builder. The neighborhood is wonderful. We love living here! I highly recommend them if you are building.

In May 2012, I began looking to purchase a home in Lumberton, Texas area. I had a limited amount of time in which to complete the purchase, so I was looking at pre-owned or “spec” housing. I had looked at many homes in Beaumont and Lumberton, and was beginning to think that I was not going to find one before I needed to move. My realtor took me to see the home in which I am now living. The moment I walked in, I knew this was exactly what I was looking for. Even my realtor agreed that this was the perfect home for me. The color scheme, the attention to detail, and the quality of workmanship were exactly what I had been looking for. I had asked a friend and her husband to do a walk through with me prior to making an offer on the home. There were a few minor details that needed attention, and I presented the list to my realtor and made my offer. That is when I met James Abshire. He promptly assured me that everything I required would be taken care of and it was. Since my move in date of June 21, 2012, I have been very pleased with the quality and construction of my home. I have been in other new houses in the area and can honestly say that I believe Abshire Building Group is one of the best building contractors in the Golden Triangle. I would not hesitate to employ Abshire Building Group if I were to build a home in the future.

We’d not planned to ever build a home. When we met with the Abshire’s about building we immediately knew their process would allow us to build our first home without having any idea what we were doing. Joan had a plan and a person for everything. She told me what I needed to decide at every turn and referred me to examples and professionals that could help me make the best decision. The Abshire’s made the home building process effortless for us. We love the neighborhood they have created and are excited to raise our family here.

After examining the neighborhood I gave Beth a call and she understood what we wanted. She then introduced me to Mrs Joan Abshire. From then on I had to work with Mrs Joan who always gave her professional advice whenever necessary. She is such a patient, sweet person to work with. She would go to any length to make sure I understood what I was looking for. She would drive me around to other sites to see samples of what I was asking for before making a decision.
She is so diligent and committed. She is punctual.
At Abshire building group everyone works their little bits satisfactorily to bring the house to completion.
I remember at the drafting stage of the plan; Jamie and I have had to change the plan several times. He was also very patient with me whenever I didn’t like a plan, he would re-draft a new one without complaining or frowning until we got it right.
Now I love our new home and would recommend them to a friend or family member.

I’ve never wrote a review for anything in my life but James Abshire went above and beyond and deserves to be recognized. While James was in the process of building our house, I hired a pool contractor to build a pool in the backyard. This contractor did not have any dirt to fill in around the pool in order to lay concrete for the pool decking and the subcontractors he hired to do the decking were going to go home and not come back. James had one of his employees get a big tractor to deliver dirt to the property while James himself got a smaller tractor to place the dirt all along the pool. Then when the pool was inspected by the city, the pool failed inspection due to bonding and plumbing issues. The pool contractor acted confused and didn’t understand what the city wanted. James came over, found out the problem, went to the store to purchase supplies and fixed the issue himself. The pool was not at all James’ responsibility and yet he fixed many issues throughout the entire process. At no time did James charge me a dime, even after I offered to pay him for supplies and his time. I would recommend using Abshire Building Group to anyone looking to buy a new house.

We had a wonderful experience with Abshire Builders while building our new home. They were very personable and professional to work with. This was our first home building and they were very personable and professional to work with. This was our first home building experience and the chore of selecting brick, fixtures, tile, etc. can be very over whelming. Mrs. Joan made the process very easy and fun. We are happy with our completed project and would highly recommend Abshire Builders.

We first moved into an Abshire small garden home in 2008. We loved that house and it was bittersweet parting with it. As we grew into a large family, we still loved the home. The only thing that coaxed us away was a larger home the Abshires built in the same neighborhood.

We were able to catch our new house earlier in the building stage and they worked with us to allow us to personalize our new home.
